Y8 Camp Reflection

Y8 CAMP

At the end of term 1 most of the year 8s went to Marsden Bay Christian Bay Camp for a school trip.

After the 2-3 hour drive in the bus we finally reached our destination and it felt good. When we hopped off the bus we were all told to grab some bags and put them on the deck and with 10 seconds of reaching the camp it started raining. After managing to take all the bags inside we sat down and ate our lunch. After lunch we go inside to the meeting room where we talk about our activities.

After we finished getting all the bags in we sat down in our groups, And then we had to learn about friendship, Teamwork and Kindness. One way they taught us how to learn teamwork was by tying our hands together and made us make fruit Kebabs.

After that we went to our cabins and set up our rooms and beds, three people from my cabin were unable to come. So as we set up our room we noticed that we only had five people and that there were ten beds. Not long after were called in to get ready for dinner. After we finished dinner the teachers asked if we wanted to stay up to stay and watch Johnny English, some people went back to their cabins to get there sleeping bag and pillow and some went back to sleep in their cabins. Halfway thru the movie it decided to crash so everyone ended up going to sleep or staying up talking.

Day #2

Today started off with breakfast, then we went to our meeting room to find out what activities we were going to do. But because it was raining we had to turn to plan B, so first we just had fun while we were suppose to be on kayaks in the water but we had fun. While we were drawing we were asked if we wanted to go on the kayaks me and Te Mauri were lucky enough to go on them for a little and then we chucked everyone in. Our next activity was the waterslide the best thing about the camp it was so fun. It was a huge slide that was awesome one kid even went and got his soap. After we finished our time on the slide we went to have a shower and change our clothes for our last activity. Our last activity was archery and it was awesome while the other boys left and played around that meant I was able to have more shots.

After we finished all our activities we went back into the meeting room to get told we were allowed free time, everyone ran outside but me and my cousin (Josh) went straight to the soccer gladiator cage. But not long after that I was told from a teacher to go to the Flying Fox because my mum wanted me to (My mum was working the on the Flying Fox). After I got to the flying fox I got to go up, and I was so scared but as soon as I hit the top I was amazed, at the awesome view amazed, Mind Blown. Still a little bit scared i decided to get this over and done with as I step over the edge I instantly forgot the fear and felt the pain of the harness.

After the free time was over we went to the meeting room to discuss how much time we would have to prepare our team item we ended up getting 1 hour to prepare our item. After we finished preparing our item we were told to head back inside for dinner. We finished dinner and went back in the meeting room to do our items.

Some were smart, funny, cool and weird in the end we came last. Once we finished that we were aloud to stay up and watch Johnny English 2 or go to sleep I decided to stay up and watch it, but again it crashed half way thru.

Day #3

Today was the day we were cleaning, clearing and preparing after 1-2 hours of cleaning we got ready to leave. As we got back to school we had to unload everything and then we got to leave.

The Terrifying Forest

Autumn has just ticked over and some people were already missing Summer, but some people were looking forward to it like Jeff and Liam. Jeff and Liam are both the same age, 25. They lived in a house near a disturbing forest apparently was really nice before something happened.

Jeff and Liam always wanted to go into the forest but they didn't know what was in there, no one did. Some  nights they’d both look out at the forest entry and try see if anything came out. One night something came out of the forest, it was too dark to see exactly what it was but Jeff said “It looked like a tiny object” and since then he’s always wanted to explore the forest.

Everyone was told to never go in the forest which made made the boys more eager, and one day there curiosity got the best of them.

One day while Jeff and Liam were walking home from University they crossed past the forest and Jeff was just to excited he pressured Liam to go with him as they stood outside the entrance of the forest they heard noises, creepy noises rustling leaves, scattering and more. As they slowly started to walk through they heard someone yell there name and they both sprinted for the entrance finding out that it was there friend who saw them go into the forest, Jack.

Jack asked why they were even thinking of going thru there Jeff told them “It would be fun” and Jack replied “Oh, no no no no no!” Jeff and Jack argued for 5 minutes and then decided to all go into the forest.

As they all kept their eyes peeled for any movement they heard noises walking noises, crunching noises and weird noises as they were now speed walking they heard crying of a baby they rushed over to what looked like a baby and tried to pick it up it was just too dark to see what it really was.

Liam picked up the baby and felt how hard it was, when he noticed what it was right before it bit him Liam screamed with all his might and power  and screamed to the top of his lungs and yelled “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh” as he flicked the doll of his hand they all started sprinting to the end when all of a sudden they heard laughing and footsteps that weren't theirs they looked behind them and saw so many dolls chasing them.

As they start to see the sunlight they feel things on there back little nudges on there back which increased their speed, heart rate and fear. Running towards the light, they were all scared and tired but they were determined to get out alive, coming closer and closer to the light. The boys just reaching the end just in time before one grabbing hold of Jack’s shoes, as soon as they got into the light the dolls decided to back away.

As the boys tried to catch their breath they were shocked at what had happened. As they kept running a little further they stopped to realise what just happened. They all agreed to never go in the forest again.

Rampage On The Pier

It all started on one happy day when these kids were all on a field trip from New Zealand visiting the United States Of America. This would be the day that ruined their lives.

The kids just got there and instantly they all ran to try get on a ride some stuck together and others disappeared by themselves. Zane and Taimana went on the Roller Coaster and Lucy and Ava went on the Ferris wheel. We all got candy floss, hotdogs, popcorn and lollies most of us went in groups of two we were having so much fun, but all that was about to stop.

The kids are Taimana fast as lightning, Mo scared of everything, Ava and Lucy Best Friends, David was the muscles, Tevita the president, Benjamin and Lorenzo Bestfriends, May Popular one, Miss Clark Teacher, and Zane the best.

As Ava and Lucy just got on the roller coaster within 30 seconds of it it stopped and all the other ones stopped as well, and all they heard was screaming, Lorenzo and Benjamin were on the Ferris wheel when it stopped and Zane and Taimana were eating our food we looked to our left and everyone was running past us some were jumping into the water and some weren't moving shocked I guess. We both stood up on the chair and there were Zombies?!

Ava pushes Lucy off the roller coaster and on the way down Lucy pulls Ava down with her from fear and they both splat on the ground. Mo manages to find the perfect hiding spot but was to scared to come out and reveal his spot.

I looked around thinking of all the other kids and how scared they were and Tai was stuck thinking if he should fight, run or jump into the water. These weren't normal slow stupid walking Zombies they could run and they were trapping the humans to jumping of the bridge was the only choice but they had really bad sight so they relied on their smell. Most people jumped into the water and Jordan tried to jump to the water but he missed and all his intestines splatted all over the ground.

People still running around the place, screaming and crying. After all the kids jumped in the water they swam to the beach except for Zane and Taimana as they were fighting the Zombies they got up on the fence and started to kick their heads but Zane started to slip off the fence Taimana grabbed him but he wasn't able to pull him back up and they ended up falling in the water. A lot of people, men were fighting the zombies because they're so strong it's what you see at Venice Beach. Some teenagers were shooting the zombies with the air rifles from the duck game, until no one could fight them off there were way too much and it’s weird to think that they would target the Pier.

Two weeks have gone by in the infection Mo, he starved to death infection number grew a little people evacuated the country as soon as they could and plane prices went up. People tried to block out the infected side of the country even if there were other people on the other side.

Day by day the infection spread to more people at the Venice Beach. Soon the whole country would be infected. Tevita, the president was safe in his bunker with everything he needed to survive and as the infection grew he was able to lock down and warn everyone about those areas.

Polyfest

Travelling around

POLYFEST YAYYY, So it is now the 40th birthday of Polyfest.

Kia ora to my post about Polyfest. Polyfest is a big day to see or perform cultural dances from all over the world Tongan, Maori, Samoan but most of all there is great food. Mostly I would enjoy Walking around seeing the Performance's, eating and enjoying the time with my friends. 


This is where you find new things taste new things and you can see awesome things. You could test your strength, your Instincts and it's just awesome. I encourage more people to go to Polyfest. You can see what company's have in order like Air New New Zealand (Airport), Globug (Energy company) and many more.

It is a awesome place "I certainly love the place"  and maybe you will to but sadly if you want to go now you can't well you have to wait till 2016 as it has already passed.

Miss Peato's Birthday

This morning it was one of our street teachers birthday. Her name Is Miss Peato I believe she is 29 and the rest of the teachers planned a surprise for her. While she was just about to present they did it.

They way they surprised her was by singing happy birthday as the came out of the green room with her cake. Mr Wiseman (Another teacher in the street) tried to open the door but his hands was full from his guitar, so he ended up kicking the door trying to open it with his foot.

As the rest of the teachers came out Mrs’s Tele’a, Mrs’s Moala and Miss Clarke with the cake.

Family Trip (Writing Test)

In February, 2014 my mum brang up the idea to go see my brother, of course I wasn’t gonna say no.

So me my mum and my sister decided to go see my brother, Mareva the reason we didn’t see him much because he was in Melbourne australia. He left when he was 17 and we went to visit him for his birthday. He is the second oldest of all my sibling’s at 20 years old so we got the plane tickets to see my brother.

March, 2014

So we were dropped off at the airport from my aunty and we bought some tickets and went into the plane area as we were walking around we went to change our NZ money to Australian money. So while we were walking around these fancy shop’s our plane was called as we went to go find our place to go onto the plane I saw a arcade and I was off. After playing a couple games we found where we were meant to go, and it was so crowded, but after around 30mins we were starting to board the plane.

So on the plane me and my mum were taking selfies and taking photo’s of the awesome landscapes. I wasn’t a very long trip only three and a half hours or so, I was enjoying the trip we brought some food played some games but then it was time to go and check out the Melbourne airport. So we walked around, and then we went outside to look for my mum’s friend who was gonna pick us up. For a while we were walking around and then we saw her and we loaded our things into her car and she took us back to her place.

Later on in the night around 1:00am my brother texted my mum and told her to meet at McDonalds so we went to McDonalds to see my brother. I was so excited to see him I don’t know what he looks like what he does so I was very happy to see him. As we drove into McDonalds we saw him leaning on his car so we parked next to him and hopped out the car to see him. I was first to give him a hug and Kaycee (My sister). As we were talking he showed me inside his car told me stories of drag races and he also gave me gum. As the night went on everyone got tired except for me so I wanted to go back to my brothers aunty’s with Mareva so I went off with him while my sister and mum went back to my mums friends place.

We quietly crept into the house into his room the time was about 2:00am and I was still pumped so as he went to sleep I was watching movies until I got tired and fell asleep. In the morning I woke up and went to the kitchen to find my brother and his cousin talking. So I went in and said hi and Mareva made me a breakfast and Milo. After breakfast we went to go see my mum and sister and once we saw them Mareva knew where to take them, to the mall. So we went to a mall and we saw a  movie called Captain america Winter soldier it was a really good movie and my mum and sister really enjoyed the mall.

After the day went my mum booked us a hotel call The Crown Hotel or Crown Plaza but I was amazing but for some reason our cards for the elevator didn't work so we had trouble with that so we got a new wasn’t much better the first thing we did was go to the pools so we swam there for ages and my brother came to the hotel later on as we got out the pool we went back to the room and we had my brother with us by then and we ended up sharing beds. In the hotel room the was an amazing view of the city.

We went for walks my brother took us to 3 more movies and I can’t remember the names. As we walked around the city we went to amazing place saw cool things and most of all had fun. I pretty much went where ever my brother went and I had the best time I could ever have.

Video Conference With Two Hawaii School's

Today the year 7&8 extension done a video conference with two schools from Hawaii, called Kea'Au Elementary and Nanakuli Elementary. We will meet a amazing and famous crew that is sailing around the world with the boat Hokule'a. Lucky for the Maniakalani cluster of 2,500 kids in the Cluster the famous boat will be arriving at Pt England School Beach on the 24th of march, because they are so famous we will be welcoming them with Maori song's, Waiata's and a Presentation. Brynn and Kai
We have learnt about with the teacher, Brynn Kea'Au elementary as they shared there facts to us and we shared our some information to the school. We learnt that a volcano that had erupted is slowly taking out houses. The school get's updates about the lava Everyday. They have told us about how they learn how they move in the school.

We also talked to Kai a teacher from Nanakuli elementary. We learnt just as much as we did as Kea'Au
