The Olympics

:The Olympics:

Back in 776 BC(Before Christ) was the first ever ancient Olympic games, it was held in Olympia Greece. The games were dedicated to the Olympian god.

There were only 13 games in the ancient Olympic games and now there are at least 28. The modern games are more exciting, for numerous reasons; there are larger crowds more people can watch it from the other side of the world on the tv, heaps more countries are participating and more people are breaking records.

Every Olympics the games travel to a different location this year it's being held in Rio De Janeiro Brazil. Last year it ventured to London, England and before that was Beijing in 2008. People build new buildings, new stadiums and even new Monuments for the visitors who are going to the country for the olympics.

Because Brazil isn't seeming like a safe place at the moment because of reasons like the Zika Virus and unsafe stories  some contestants have dropped out of the big tournament.

In conclusion if you host the Olympics in your country it is given the opportunity to get more money from tourists visiting the country, tourists will be going to that country more because of what it looks like from the olympics and that will get people buying more things from shops, using hotels and just having trips around the country.

The Immersion Assembly

Immersion Assembly

Early monday morning was the school Immersion assembly, meaning that today was the first day back at school. All of the teachers either made a movie or a live performance.

As I walked into the hall I was excited to find out what our topic for the term was going to be. Playing in the hall on repeat a song that resembled the following “All i do is art”. Some teachers were wearing some creative costumes like a pallet of paint and a hat as a brush.

Team one talked about doing their favourite things, Chocolate and more, they made a video and said all of their favorite things. Team two talked about seasons and how they were going to draw all different things.

Team three are doing Architecture they made a funny video like Grand Designs but it was just a tent.

Out of all 5 performances my favourite was Team 4, their topic is Comics they made a humorous video with super heroes, Bat Guy, Team Leader America, Wondering woman and the Villain Bear Baxendine..

As the team 5 teachers walked up to the stage they were dressed in colors of our House Teams Red(Te Aurere), Blue ( Hine Moana), Green ( Hokulea) and Yellow ( Hikianalia). They all lined up for a race, in the end Hokulea won.

The Terrifying Forest

Autumn has just ticked over and some people were already missing Summer, but some people were looking forward to it like Jeff and Liam. Jeff and Liam are both the same age, 25. They lived in a house near a disturbing forest apparently was really nice before something happened.

Jeff and Liam always wanted to go into the forest but they didn't know what was in there, no one did. Some  nights they’d both look out at the forest entry and try see if anything came out. One night something came out of the forest, it was too dark to see exactly what it was but Jeff said “It looked like a tiny object” and since then he’s always wanted to explore the forest.

Everyone was told to never go in the forest which made made the boys more eager, and one day there curiosity got the best of them.

One day while Jeff and Liam were walking home from University they crossed past the forest and Jeff was just to excited he pressured Liam to go with him as they stood outside the entrance of the forest they heard noises, creepy noises rustling leaves, scattering and more. As they slowly started to walk through they heard someone yell there name and they both sprinted for the entrance finding out that it was there friend who saw them go into the forest, Jack.

Jack asked why they were even thinking of going thru there Jeff told them “It would be fun” and Jack replied “Oh, no no no no no!” Jeff and Jack argued for 5 minutes and then decided to all go into the forest.

As they all kept their eyes peeled for any movement they heard noises walking noises, crunching noises and weird noises as they were now speed walking they heard crying of a baby they rushed over to what looked like a baby and tried to pick it up it was just too dark to see what it really was.

Liam picked up the baby and felt how hard it was, when he noticed what it was right before it bit him Liam screamed with all his might and power  and screamed to the top of his lungs and yelled “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh” as he flicked the doll of his hand they all started sprinting to the end when all of a sudden they heard laughing and footsteps that weren't theirs they looked behind them and saw so many dolls chasing them.

As they start to see the sunlight they feel things on there back little nudges on there back which increased their speed, heart rate and fear. Running towards the light, they were all scared and tired but they were determined to get out alive, coming closer and closer to the light. The boys just reaching the end just in time before one grabbing hold of Jack’s shoes, as soon as they got into the light the dolls decided to back away.

As the boys tried to catch their breath they were shocked at what had happened. As they kept running a little further they stopped to realise what just happened. They all agreed to never go in the forest again.

This Year's Reflection

I felt like my first year in intermediate was  amazing, i definitely enjoyed my first year ever in intermediate. 2015, So far i’m enjoying the life of a senior, there are many good things about being a senior.

One thing I found very satisfying this year was all the trips we went on and how many activities we did. We did activities like friday sports, and trips like Rainbows end and Polyfest and soon Parakai.

The difficult parts in this year we're moving to more work and more difficult work. I also found work extra hard from Extension, Maths and Reading & Writing. I feel like this year I maybe could’ve done more work then I have done.

I’ve enjoyed the new teachers and the ways they teach and the way they talk to us.I think that the teachers are doing good for teaching us a lot of new things.

This year has been super fun, busy, challenging and cool. I want to be able to look forward to next year as I will be a year 8.

Overall I had a really fun year, did new things and accomplished new achievements. 2015 Was an amazing year in my opinion, and I thank all the teachers for teaching me.

Technology To me is my LIFE.

Technology has gotten better over the years.

For me I think technology is better.

1. It’s weird how phones have gone from two plastic bottles and a pipe to all the cords and wires.

2.People went from making homemade candles and now we have scented candles.

3.Batteries, Batteries have changed a lot from the olden days by the price the size and the amount.

4.The first computer was made in February 1946.

5. Technology has changed a lot since 1880, 1920 and we know that it has changed a lot.

Camp Bentzon Recount

The Best Camp Of My Life!!!

Week 6 Tuesday, arriving at sandspit after at least an hour and a half drive in the bus, we finally were getting ready to go on the ferry loading the bags, taking our time. When we finished we all went up on to the the top of the ferry to look out for some dolphins. Just seeing dolphin’s in the distance was still amazing and we were always getting closer to the camp and passing the mansion as we finally got there and started unpacking.

Orienteering: “Orienteering” I thought it would be amazing and I was right. First my group were just mucking around for the first eight and after that, me and Taunese went crazy we probably found the other 12 in about 20 minutes. Soo while me and Taunese were searching for them we forgot that we ditched our group so we had to wait for Shaitarn, Taiaha, Ava, My mum, and Junior. We waited for about 5-8 minutes and once they found us we were back on the trail, it was hard for the rest of the group to keep up with me, Taunese and Junior. Once we finished we went back to find out the words (Me and Taunese) we found out the words and they were.......

Kayaking : “Kayaking” I thought I am the best at that  I thought. So when we were getting our kayaks out I was getting really excited until I felt the water. The water was horrible it was so choppy (Big Wind) that we couldn't leave the shore so there were people falling out, people falling behind and also people drifting away. While we were kayaking Taunese actually tipped and lost her shoes they found one but the other is somewhere lost in the ocean. Another one that fell out was Junior I don’t know how he fell out but he just did. So we probably had the worst day to go on the kayaks so  that was kayaking.

Sailing: “Sailing”, was my most favorite thing in the whole camp! I loved it me, Ava and Taunese ruled that one. Again Junior fell in the water but man it was AMAZING! After doing it I would do it for life and out of all the time I was doing drifts (Tiller to the sail). If you haven't tried sailing then you have to try it we rode in a optimust. When you tip (Capsize) it will be more fun than scary and it will be very cool nearly capsizing because I nearly fell out about 5 times.

Our Cabins: “My cabin” It was very small for five people but it worked. In my cabin was Stevenson (Best Friend), Jordan, Louis and Owen and they are all my friends. It was awesome at night time but not as good as the day we had awesome well, some I didn't have so good nights because of snoring. The cabin was uncomfortable but I didn’t mind it better than nothing. The best thing in the cabin was the munchies and my friends and my self. My cabin was the letter G and we were able to choose our beds I chose the top bunk at first but then Stevenson moaned that he wanted it sooo, I was left on the bottom bunk.

Coclusion: “Leaving” The hardest thing for me was actually leaving the camp. I really enjoyed my time I definitely recommend it the second best camp I’ve ever been to. The camp is the camp of pain but it is worh it.

Writing Test How To Be A Good Friend

WALT: Explain to your reader what being a good friend means

A friend is a person that is a great person that helps you. Whenever you’re with a friend they make you better when you’re feeling sad or angry or at least they try you just have to let them.

Every now and then you and your friend will have a little or big argument, but thats how it should be. Well if you have a so awesome friend that forgives you in every single way and just moves along thats great but you just have to forgive them as well if you they have stuck up for you many times. Falling out with your friend is a bad thing but you should always become friends again (Depending on how bad it is) “I have been in bad situations with my friends but we always just put it behind us.” It is usual to lose a friend or disagree it is totally normal so dont worry if you do just always be in contact with them.

” Ahhhhhhhhhh (relaxing ahh) best friends aren't they the best?” Best friends are where they support, encourage and help in any different way. Now you can be so close with your best friends that you hang out all the time “Like me and my best friend.” “Me and my best friend Stevenson hang out all the time we even decided to be like brothers” all im saying is that, you can be so close with someone you’ll be like family. Whenever you're feeling sad or unappreciated there the ones to go talk and communicate or your parents but its up to you to choose.

If you are a good friend to all of your friends then you have a really good chance, that they will all pretty much the same things that a best friend would do. Being a really good buddy is like being a or atleast try to be a best friend. Could you be the best buddy you can be to support, encourage and help in any possible way?

The main thing im trying to say is always try your hardest to be the best friend you can be.
